Background
Construction for the first phase was expected to begin in 2012.[4]As early as 2013 this plant encountered delays, pushing construction to 2020.[5] In 2019 it was still under development.[6]
As of 2022, there has been no additional update on the construction of the plant, and Szeged Energia ZRT has been noted as being absent from the Hungarian register of companies. The project is presumed shelved.[7]
