Tanah Merah Coal terminal is a coal loading facility located in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.[1] The terminal is capable of handling 60,000 DWT coal bulk carriers.[2]
Location
Background
The terminal is a stockyard for coal from Kideco Jaya Agung's Pasir Coal Mine The stockyard capacity of Tanah Merah Coal Terminal is 700,000 tonnes a year. The barge loading facilities can load up to 90,000 tonnes a day, making it possible for the terminal to ship up to 40 million tonnes per year. Once loaded, barges are sent to Adang Bay Anchorage for transshipment.[3]
The Adang Bay anchorage exported 21.8 million tonnes of in 2022 and the same in 2023, according to an industry source.[4][5]
