Background
Construction of the plant was included into the "2035 Electric Power Industry Development Plan" released by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan in February 2024. The project will be implemented through auction bidding.[2] In July 2024, the new plant was mentioned in the "National Infrastructure Plan of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2029". According to the document, the implementation will take place in 2025-2028. The cost of the project is estimated at KZT 135 billion.[3] As of November 2024, there have not been any further updates.
