Coal Mine Background
The intention is to export coal via the Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal, after it has been transported via the Queensland Rail Central West rail system, which dissects the Project site and connects to the Aurizon Blackwater rail system at Nogoa Junction.[1]
The mine is awaiting final approval having secured the acceptance by the State government of the Final Environmental Impact Statement in March 2015.[2]
The project has awaited final approval for 6 years and is now presumed cancelled.
