Background

Teng County cogen power station allegedly consists of 4 units - 3 X 80 MW units and 1 x 50 MWm and utilizes circulating fluidized bed combustion technology.[2] The permission to build (桂发改电力〔2022〕14号) was granted on 6 January 2022 by Guangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission.[2]

In 2020, it was reported that the project's construction was expected to begin in March 2021.[3]

In March 2023, a call for EPC bids was posted for Phase I (2 x 80 MW) of the project.[4]

In April 2023, it was reported that the project would be built in two phases, with completion expected in 2024.[5]

According to the 2023 Guangxi list of key energy projects, Unit 1 had begun construction in January 2023.[6] The 2023 list estimated that the project would be in operation by 2025.[6]
