Background

As of 2020, the mine was still producing although only 3,000 tonnes per month (that's 36,000 tonnes per annum).

The mine was flooded in April 2022 following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. "Everything has drowned - together with pumps and energy equipment". Due to Russian shelling, it was impossible to maintain water pumping anymore.

The mines of Pervomaiskugol jointly produced 0.17 Mt in 2021.
