Background
A 2020 Environmental Impact Statement titled "Efficientamento della Centrale di Trapani con Installazione di Nuovi OCGT per 220 MWe" outlines a proposal to replace the existing gas turbines with new open-cycle gas turbines with 55 MW capacities.[9][10] The Ministry of Ecological Transition approved this permit in December, 2021.[11]
