Background

Trudarmeisky Yuzhny Coal Mine (Трудармейский-Южный разрез) is a SURFACE mine in Prokopyevsky District, Kemerovo region, Russia. [2] The Trudarmeisky Yuzhny coal mine is owned by Razrez Trudarmeisky Yuzhny LLC, which is owned by Kimerm JSC. [3]

The coal mine opened in 2017.[4] The mine planned to export the produced coal, one of the contracts signed in 2017 was to supply to Poland.[5]

In 2019 the mine's operations were suspended for 90 days following the review of the Federal Technical Supervisory Authority (Rostechnadzor), as the mine was operating outside of the parameters allowed in the project documentation.[6]

It appeared that at the end of 2021 there were some financial claims against the coal mine.[7]

Reported production was 0 over January-June, 2022.[8]

In March 2023, bankruptcy proceedings were commenced due to high debt levels of the company to the tax authorities.[9][10] In December 2023, bankruptcy was confirmed.[11] In November 2024, the company was selling off its assets.[12]
