Background
Parts of the field were discovered in 1991, but after more wells were drilled with limited success, there was no further activity in the block for about ten years.[8] In 2001, Kerr-McGee, then the operator of the block, began its exploration/appraisal campaign.[9] The Department of Trade and Industry approved the project's field development plan in March 2002[10], and the field was producing oil by August 2002.
Redevelopment project
“Tullich (redevelop/gas blowdown)” was listed by Carbon Brief as a field identified by Uplift, which could be approved between 2022 and 2025.[11]
Ownership
As of 2020, the field is 100% owned and operated by TotalEnergies.[12]
