Background

The Turbigo power station is situated in the municipalities of Turbigo and Robecchetto, in the province of Milan, is comprised of one operating combined cycle unit of 855 mw (two gas turbines and one steam turbine) and three conventional steam units with a total capacity of about 900 MW[10] that were retired between 2012 and 2013.[11]

An expansion of the plant with a new unit of 430 MW was started in 2021, with the finished unit expected to be commissioned at the end of 2022.[12]
