The Turkey Atomic Energy Authority (TAEK) is the government agency which has responsibility for planning the development of nuclear power.[1]

While there are currently no operating nuclear power stations in Turkey, several have been proposed. One, the 4800 megawatt Akkuyu nuclear power station, has been proposed by Rosatom to be commence construction in mid-2013 with the four units commissioned between 2020 and 2023.[2]
