Location
The pipeline runs from Sosnogorskaya compressor station in Ukhta, Komi Republic to a compressor station near Torzhok, Totemsky District, Vologda Oblast, Russia.[2][3]

Background
Route
The three pipelines routes (I, II, and III) run essentially parallel to each other, from start to finish.
The pipelines run partially parallel to the newer pipelines with the same name, Ukhta-Torzhok (Yamal) Gas Pipeline and Ukhta-Torzhok (Yamal) 2 Gas Pipeline.[2] However, there are several significant differences in route between the two sets of pipelines:
- Start point: The Ukhta-Torzhok (Yamal) Gas Pipeline and Ukhta-Torzhok (Yamal) 2 Gas Pipeline connect to the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta Gas Pipeline, while the Ukhta-Torzhok (Vuktyl) Gas Pipelines (I, II, and III) connect to Vuktyl-Ukhta I Gas Pipeline, Vuktyl-Ukhta II Gas Pipeline, and Punga-Vuktyl-Ukhta I Gas Pipeline respectively.
- End point: While the Ukhta-Torzhok (Yamal) Gas Pipeline and Ukhta-Torzhok (Yamal) 2 Gas Pipeline terminate near Gryazovets, the Ukhta-Torzhok (Vuktyl) Gas Pipeline (I, II, and III) terminates at Torzhok.
A detailed route for each of the three pipelines was downloaded from OpenStreetMap, Open Infrastructure Map: I[6], II[7], and III.[8]
