Background
UltraTech Cement Limited is part of the Aditya Birla group.[1] UltraTech Cement is the largest manufacturer of grey cement and ready-mix concrete (RMC) and one of the largest manufacturers of white cement in India.[2]
Dalla Cement Works, a flagship unit of Ultratech Cement Ltd., was taken over from Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. on 29th June 2017. As of 2022, Dalla had two units (Line-4&5) with a capacity of 2.0 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) Clinker, 0.5 mtpa cement production and a 27 MW captive thermal power plant.[3] In August 2022, the company announced the commissioning of an additional 1.3 mtpa cement capacity at Dalla Cement Works.[4] The plant capacity is expected to be enhanced to 3.5 mtpa clinker capacity anf 5 mtpa cement capacity.[5]
