Background
UltraTech Cement Limited is part of the Aditya Birla group.[1] UltraTech Cement is the largest manufacturer of grey cement and ready-mix concrete (RMC) and one of the largest manufacturers of white cement in India.[2]
Indian Rayon (Rajashree Cement) was set up in mid 1980.[3] The cement business of Indian Rayon anf Grasim Cement was merged in 1998.[3]
UltraTech Cement has proposed to increase the plant capacity from 9 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) 13.3 mtpa of clinker capacity, 8.7 mtpa to 13.7 mtpa of cement capacity and 108.2 MW to 158.2 MW captive power plant.[4]
