Background

In December 2015, the power station underwent the initial cooperation agreement for environmental licensing through IBAMA.[3] A 2018 report from Brazil's energy research agency EPE indicated that the power station had been successfully licensed[4], and it was listed as a participant in Brazil's October 2019 energy auctions.[5] However, as of April 2022 there have been no subsequent news reports about the project, and it is no longer listed as an active project by Brazilian government sources[6], so it is presumed to be shelved.
