Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) is a wholly Uttar Pradesh government owned utility responsible for transmission and distribution of electricity in the state of Uttar Pradesh. UPPCL was created as a part of major restructuring of the government own energy assets with Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam created to hold the thermal power generation assets and Uttar Pradesh Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UPJVNL) holding the existing and under construction hydro power stations.
