Background

Vikas Power thermal plant is a proposed 540 megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant to be commissioned by Vikas Power in Krishnapatnam in Nellore district. The plant would be implemented in two phases of 2x135 MW each.

However, there has been no news since the 2012 announcement, and the project appears to have been abandoned.
