Background
On its website VISA Power states that it has signed an MoU with the Government of Jharkhand on 5th February 2008 "for setting up a 2,640 MW integrated power plant." It also states that "the Company has identified the location of the project and is about to commence land acquisition process." It describes the project as in "initial stage of planning."[1][2]
In 2011 the private equity firm Blackstone expressed interest in purchasing Visa Power, but backed out in 2013, saying the power company had failed to meet certain milestones due to a lack of resources.[3]
As of May 2016 the project has yet to receive environmental permits, and appears to be abandoned.
