Background
The Wards Well - Lancewood coal project is a proposed mine located north West of Emerald, Queensland, Australia.[2] BHP Billiton discussed the concept study phase in a 2019 presentation.[2]The company lists it as a possible open cut mine producing both metallurgical and thermal coal from the Bowen Basin in Queensland.[3] Later references are only made to metallurgical coal.[4]
In 2021, Stanmore Resources Limited bought BHP's interest in BMC. The transaction revealed that there has been no measured resources or exploration activity on the site.[5]
