Background
In October 2020, ownership of the pipeline was transferred from Sinopec to PipeChina.[4]
Weigang-Jingmen Oil Pipeline New Line 魏荆新鲜 (魏岗-荆门) commenced construction in November 2022 and was successfully put into operation in November 2023. It will replace the old line of the Weigang-Jingmen Oil Pipeline.[2]
Pipeline leakage
In March 2016, it was reported that the pipeline was leaking in multiple locations due to its age.[5]
