West Bengal Power Development Corporation
The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) is a fully state owned India company that was incorporated in 1985. Its website states that "the primary objective of the Company has always been to promote the business of electric power generation and evacuation for subsequent supply in the state." As of January 2012, the company lists the total installed capacity of the state at 7501 megawatts (MW), of which 4170 MW is owned by the state power utility.[1]

- Sagardighi Thermal Power Project Extension Unit No. 3 & 4 (2x660 MW)
- Santaldih Thermal Power Project -- a 6th Unit of 250MW has been proposed which WBPDC states on it website has "financial closure completed";
- Katwa Thermal Power Project, a 1320 MNW project which WBPDC summarises on it website as "financial closure awaited";
- Bakreswar Thermal Power Project a 660MW expansion of the Bakreswar Thermal Power Station. WBPDC summarises on it website as as "financial closure awaited".
