Western Energy Production is a privately held oil and gas exploration and production company headquartered in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
Western Energy describes its focus as "leasehold acquisition and development of emerging and resource potential plays."[1]
Operations
Domestically, Western Energy has a leasehold position in the Monterey/Kreyenhagen Shale play in the San Joaquin Basin of California, in the Niobrara Shale play in the DJ Basin of Colorado, and in the Brown Dense/Lower Smackover play in northeastern Louisiana and northwestern Mississippi.[1]
Western is also "developing opportunities" in other parts of the US, as well as West and East Africa.[1]
