The Westport to Lyttleton railway is a part of the the New Zealand railway infrastructure, in particular of coal frieght services from the mines on the West Coast of New Zealand. The railway line is owned and operated by Kiwirail, the trading name used by the New Zealand Railways Corporation.[1]
