Background

The operating company for this plant was established in Nov 1999 by Shenergy Co and Shanghai Electric Power. Two 600 MW subcritical units were built for a total investment of 6.95 billion yuan. Construction began in April 1997 and Units 1 & 2 were completed in 2002.
