Background

This power station near the Huangou River was founded in 1958 in the Wujing Chemical Industry Zone. Six small units have all been closed. The plant currently consists of four coal-fired units totaling 1,200 MW, commissioned from 1991 to 2009.[1]

A capacity replacement project of 2 x 600 MW was listed in Shanghai's 14th Five-Year-Plan for the energy sector. [2][3][4]

Ownership

In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[5]
