Background

The existing power station consists of four 660 MW supercritical coal units, majority-owned by China Datang. They began operating in 2006.[1]

Proposed expansion

In 2013, Datang Group said it was seeking permits to expand the power station by two 1,000 MW units.[2]

There were no further developments until October 2020, when majority project sponsor China Datang said it was seeking bids to carry out the EIA for the expansion.[3]

In 2021, it appeared that the expansion was cancelled, with the proposed capacity transferred to Zheneng Liuheng power station Units 3 & 4 instead.[4]
