The pipeline serves as a two-way gas transmission system, stretching 694 kilometres from the CNOOC Yagang Gas Pipeline (Yacheng-Hong Kong) to the Gaolan Natural Gas Processing Terminal in the East Oil Region of the South China Sea, Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. It has successfully connected the submarine natural gas pipeline networks in the two major oil areas in the east and west of the South China Sea, creating a comprehensive "one network." [5]
