Yamala coal mine is a proposed thermal coal mine in Queensland, Australia.[1]
Location
The Yamala mine would be located 6km to the west of Comet in the Central Bowen Basin, approximately midway between Emerald and Blackwater and just south of the Capricorn Highway.[1]
Coal Mine Background
The Yamala mine was proposed by North Energy Corporation, which was bought by New Hope Group in 2011.[2]
The Yamala mine is listed on a Queensland Government Minerals and Energy Resources: outlook profile in February 2017 as a going concern.[3]
