Background
The Yangzhou Chemical Industrial Park power station was proposed in December 2018 by the Yangzhou Chemical Industrial Park facility and approved by Jiangsu province’s Department of Ecology and Environment in November 2019.[1][2] With an initial investment of 1.5 billion RMB, the power station was planned to begin operation in March 2021; however, as of June 2021, construction has yet to begin.[1][2][3]
In December 2019, the Yangzhou Chemical Industry Park held a press conference on gas coal substitution for its facilities; however, it dit not look like that had affected the construction or fuel of the upcoming power plant.[4]
Construction began in August 2022.[5]
