Background
The first seven units of Yongji power station, totaling 380 MW, were commissioned from 1973 to 2000. Units 1-2 were retired in 1990, and units 3-7 retired in 2013. Units 8-9, totaling 600 MW, known as 晋能控股漳泽电力蒲州发电厂 were brought online between 2006 to 2007[1]. The plant is owned by Datong Coal Mining Group.[2]
Description of Expansion
Datong Coal planned two additional coal-fired units at this plant, units 10-11, with a total capacity of 700 MW. Construction began in 2013 and operation is planned for 2015-2016.[3][4]
