Background
The two existing coal-fired units of Yulin Yuheng power station, totaling 1,200 MW, were brought online in 2013 and 2014. The plant is majority-owned by China Huadian. Before 2010, the plan was to build a 6,000 MW power plant in multiple phases. With the first phase of 1,200 complete the company is continuing with a 2,000 MW second phase.[1][2]
Proposed Expansion
There were plans to build two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW.[3][4][5]
The project later changed location and sponsor, and became the Yulin Hengshan power station.[6]
