Background
In June 2023, Thermal Power Stations JSC and Italian credit agency "SACE” signed an agreement for the construction of 24 gas piston units on the territory of the 4th heating center in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent with a capacity of 4.3 MW each and 4 hot water boilers with a capacity of 130 MW each. The project is aimed at implementing the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 13 “On improving the activities of district heating enterprises in the city of Tashkent” released in January 2023.[2]
The construction began in 2024.[3] In December 2024, during a briefing the press secretary of the Uzbekistan's Ministry of Energy mentioned that the 100-MW unit at the 4th thermal power plant in Tashkent would be commissioned in 2027.[4]
