Background
Ziryansky Coal Mine (Зырянский разрез) is a SURFACE mine in Sakha Republic, Russia. The Ziryansky coal mine is owned and operated by Ziryansky Ugolny Razrez JSC. It appears to be owned by private individuals.[2]
Produced coal is shipped to the boiler plants in Yakutia as well as to Chukotka and Magadan District.[3]
In 2021, the company mentioned a plan to increase production up to 1 million tonnes per annum, however this would be dependent on the logistical solutions in the region, in particular for the railways.[4] As part of the assistance to the Ziryansky coal mine, Andrey Tarasenko, Chairman of the Government of Yakutia, instructed the regional Ministry of Transport to ensure guaranteed processing of cargoes in the Zyryanka river port, as well as at transit points. In addition, in order to improve the environmental situation in the region, it is planned to transfer the terminal transshipment of coal from the village to a separate land plot outside it.[4][5]
As of August 2021, the company planned to produce 0.25 million tonnes in 2021.[6] The company was not listed in the list of operating coal mines in the government document dated December 2023.[7] However it's presumed that it's still operating.
