Background

Agha Steel Industries Limited (ASIL) was formed in 2010 and is a fully automatic steel manufacturing company in Pakistan.[1] The construction of the manufacturing plant was started in 2010 and began commercial operations in 2012.[2] It is only electric arc furnace-based steel plant in Pakistan.[3]

In 2018, the company announced its plan to enhance its production capacity and efficiency through Balancing, Modernization and Re-balancing (BMR) activities to its existing facilities and recently signed a contract with Danieli Group to build Asia’s 1st Endless Steel Technology Mi.Da. Plant with DRB.[4] Through Phase-I of this expansion the production capacity was increased 250 ttpa to 450 ttpa.[5] In Phase-II rerolling capacity will be increased to 650 ttpa from 250 ttpa.[6]

In September 2023, the company announced its plan to install a blast furnace of capacity 4500 ttpa, to be operational by 2025.[7][8][9]
