Background

The company was fined 250,000 yuan and ordered to rectify its environmental violations in 2021.[1]

Anyang Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Anyang Steel") was established in 1958 and is one of the first key steel enterprises built in New China. It has an annual steel production capacity exceeding 10 million tons.

On January 5, 2024, Anyang Steel announced that it had received a notice from its controlling shareholder, Anyang Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as Anyang Steel Group), stating that the Henan State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) had approved the transfer of 100% equity in Anyang Steel Group, held by its indirect controlling shareholder, Henan State-owned Capital Operation Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as Henan Capital Group). The equity will be transferred to Henan Steel Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as Henan Steel Group) as a capital contribution. Henan Steel Group is a subsidiary controlled by Henan Capital Group.[2]
