Ashinskiy Metallurgical Works (Ашинский металлургический завод (Russian)), also known as Ashinsky Metallurgical Plant; Ashinskiy Metzavod; AMZ; Amet, is an electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant operating in Asha, Chelyabinsk, Russia.
Location
The map below shows the exact location of the plant in Asha, Chelyabinsk, Russia:

Background
Ashinsky Metallurgical Plant was founded in 1898. The construction of the first stage of the project was completed in 1900, when the plant's first blast furnace started producing crude iron. In 1905, the open-hearth steel production was launched.[1] In 1986, the outdated blast furnace shop was shut down, and in 2010 the open hearth furnace was shut down.[2] At present, the Ashinsky Metallurgical Plant has completely switched to electric steelmaking. The company has two electric arc furnace shops and a rolling mill, as well as specialized facilities for the production of tableware.[1]
Electric Steelmaking Shop No. 1 (EAF 1) manufacturers amorphous metallic materials – strips, powders, and ring magnetic cores.[2] The production of thick-plate metal rolled products from carbon, low-alloy, and structural grades of steel at the plant is carried out using its own slabs and ingots cast in Electric Steelmaking Shop No. 2 (EAF 2).[3]
