There are two different coal exploration projects in the Kimberley region of Western Australia which have been promoted with the name 'Canning Basin Coal Project. These are:

• Stratum Metals, a small Sydney based exploration company, has touted the Canning Basin Coal Project (Stratum Metals); and
• Cullen Resources, another junior exploration company, has touted the Canning Basin Coal Project (Cullen Resources) with Advaita Resources.
