Background
In 2014, the DG Khan Cement board approved a 30 MW pulverized coal-fired captive power plant at its factory in Khofli Sattai, Dera Ghazi Khan.[1] The unit was manufactured by Chinese company Sinoma and installed by 2016.[2]
DG Cement's 2023 Annual Report stated that high coal prices had led the company to fire more alternative fuels at Dera Ghazi Khan Cement power station and Hub Cement power station. The company was also seeking local coal rather than imported coal.[3]
