Dongbei Special Steel Group Dalian Special Steel Co Ltd (大连钢铁厂 (前身), 东北特钢集团大连特殊钢有限责任公司), also known as Dalian Steel Mill (predecessor), is a steel plant in Lingang Industrial Zone, Jinzhou New District, Dalian, Liaoning, China that operates blast furnace (BF), basic oxygen furnace (BOF), and electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

The company was ordered to rectify the improper outdoor storage of industrial solid waste, such as slag and tailings, generated during the iron and steel production processes within its premises. The slag heaps of varying sizes were scattered throughout the factory, with a massive total accumulation, and there were no facilities in place for runoff and leachate collection and drainage. They were required to rectify these issues and fined 1 million RMB.[1]
