Background
The 1115.8 MW Dos Bocas II power station was originally proposed as a replacement for the aging 452 MW Dos Bocas power station in Tabasco state, whose units had begun operating between 1983 and 1993.[4] Initial environmental impact studies for the Dos Bocas II power station were published in 2020.[4][5]
However, as of October 2024, given the absence of further news in more than four years, and the fact that Dos Bocas II was not included on the Mexican government's list of permitted projects[6], the project was presumed to be cancelled.
