Egyptian Sponge Iron and Steel Company Sadat City plant (الشركة المصرية للحديد الإسفنجي و الصلب (Arabic)), also known as ESISCo, is a 3000 thousand tonnes per annum (TTPA) direct reduced iron (DRI) and electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant operating in Sadat City, Menofia, Egypt.

Background

The Egyptian Sponge Iron and Steel plant in Sadat City has been operating since 2008. It is owned by Beshay Steel group, the largest privately owned steel producer in Egypt. In September 2022, plant workers went on a strike to protest low wages.[2]
