Background
The Sansteel Group's Luoyuan Minguang project, along with its supporting facilities, and the construction of a 1.3 million tons per year H-beam production line will be carried out in two phases. Main construction contents of Phase One: 1* 1280m3 blast furnace( into production in May 2022.[1][2]), 1 × 200m2 sintering production line, 3 × 600t/d twin-chamber kilns, 1 × 80,000m3 converter gas holder, a 50,000m3/d water treatment station, a 30,000m3/d wastewater treatment (with water recycling) station, implementing ultra-low emission transformation, and phasing out the existing 500m3 and 660m3 blast furnaces(discontinued in April 2021[3]), one each, and the existing 96m2 and 117m2 sintering production lines, as well as 6 × 180m3 and 1 × 550m3 lime kilns, with no additional production capacity.
Phase Two construction includes: 1*1250m3 blast furnace (into production in January 2021[4] ), 1 × 200m2 sintering production line supporting the production system, 1 × 120-ton BOF(into production in May 2022[5]), a set of 5-machine 5-strand continuous casting machines for irregular shapes, Phase Two of the integrated raw material yard, facilities for steel slag and water slag treatment, railway, pipeline, and other auxiliary systems.
At the same time, a 1.3 million tons per year H-beam production line will be built, adopting domestically advanced production processes and developing internationally advanced varieties of H-beam to achieve high-performance and high-quality products. Upon completion of the project, it will have an ironmaking capacity of 2.33 million tons and a steelmaking capacity of 2.65 million tons, with an annual output value of up to 15 billion yuan and a profit of 1 billion yuan.
According to the announcement of capacity replacement in October 2021, it is planned to build 1x110-tonne BOF and remove 2x50-tonne BOF.[6]
The company’s 1 × 110t BOF steelmaking system successfully completed its first furnace smelting and has now transitioned into continuous production.[7]
