GFG Liberty Steel Rotherham plant, also known as Rotherham Steel and Bar, is a steel plant in Rotherham, England, United Kingdom that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

According to the USGS 2016 Minerals Yearbook, Liberty Steel Rotherham stopped production in 2016[1] but it has since resumed operations.[2]

Further, in January 2023 the company announced plans to expand the plant's EAF capacity to 2000 ttpa.[3] The timeline for the expansion has not been specified, though it is assumed to be 2030 as part of Liberty Steel's Carbon Neutral by 2030 plan.[4]
