Background
Green Steel of WA Pty Ltd (GSWA) announced that it is proceeding towards a final investment decision (FID) in Q2 of 2024 for the Collie green steel plant, which is considered Western Australia’s first steel mill. The integrated steel plant is expected to convert steel scrap into rebar for domestic and international market, with construction planned to begin in 2024 and operations beginning in 2026.[1][2]
