Background

In May 2018, Liu Steel Group underwent a restructuring and acquired Zhongjin Company. It officially entered the Longtan Industrial Park and laid out plans to construct a stainless steel base with an annual production capacity of 5 million tons. The first phase of the project expanded the existing capacity to 2 million tons of iron and 1.2 million tons of steel, with a total investment of 5.6 billion yuan. The nickel-iron smelting project achieved trial production in May 2021, producing 5,000 tons of molten iron daily with a daily output value of 25 million yuan.The second phase of the project aims to establish a new production capacity of 2 million tons of 400-series stainless steel, with a total investment of 8 billion yuan and planned land area of 2,100 mu.As for the third phase of the project, they plan to construct a new production capacity of 2 million tons of 300-series stainless steel, with a planned land area of 2,400 mu.

A 1680m3 blast furnace has been completed and entered the trial operation phase in May 2021.

Since late 2023, the company has been carrying out technological transformation of the steelmaking system, dismantling the existing 600t mixed-iron furnace and building a new set of 50t alloy melting furnace, which can achieve an annual output of 1.2 million tons of stainless steel after the completion of the project.
