The Ha Long Coal is a subsidiary of the Vietnamese government-owned Vinacomin. Ha Long Coal operates the Bac Coc Sau coal mine in Quang Ninh Province. In 2010 the company produced approximately 2 million tonnes of coal.[1]
On January 17, 2010, Cavico Corporation - a major infrastructure construction, infrastructure investment, and natural resources conglomerate based in Vietnam - announced that its subsidiary, Cavico Bridge and Tunnel, had signed a construction contract to excavate a transport tunnel to further develop the mine. The cost-adjustable contract is valued at approximately US$2 million.[2]
