Background

The capacity replacement project has built a new blast furnace of 1780m3 and entered the trial operation stage. The trial operation of the project is from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.[1][2]

According to the capacity swap plan announcement, by the end of 2022, the company acquired 2000,000 tons per annum (2000 ttpa) of steelmaking capacity from Anyang Xinpu Iron and Steel.[3]

On November 3, 2023, the Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology released a public notice regarding the capacity replacement plan for Henan Fengbao Special Steel Co., Ltd.'s steel upgrade project aimed at optimizing product structure and achieving high-quality development. The plan indicates that the facility will construct one 100-ton BOF, four 100-ton LF refining furnaces, one 100-ton AOD furnace, one 100-ton VD/VOD refining furnace, and one 100-ton RH refining furnace. In exchange, two 50-ton BOF and one 80-ton BOF will be decommissioned.[4]
