Background on Project

Hengli Energy Yulin cogen power station is a proposed 2 x 660 MW coal plant in Fugu County. Part or all of the plant will power a proposed coal chemical plant, all sponsored by private company Hengli Group.[1]

The coal chemical project was halted for exceeding the energy cost limit. The associated power station is presumed shelved. [2]

In March 2022, the province granted the capacity of unit 1 to Shenmu Shenxin power station Unit 2. Unit 1 was presumed cancelled.[3] By the end of 2022, with no news regarding Unit 2, it was also presumed cancelled.
