Background
In 2021, the company acquired 680 tons of ironmaking capacity from Tianjin Rongcheng United Steel Group Co., Ltd.[1]
According to the capacity replacement plan announcement published in 2023, the company plans to build three 100-ton electric arc furnaces.[2]
On June 27, 2024, the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission approved the energy conservation review for Huangshi Xinguang Heavy Industry Technology Co., Ltd.'s high-end special steel project, which will have an annual capacity of 2.25 million tons and will replace 2.3 million tons of steel production capacity from other plants(three 100-ton electric arc furnaces).[3]
