Background

This offshore pipeline, along with the Israel–Egypt Onshore Gas Pipeline, is proposed to boost natural gas exports from Israel to Egypt, and it will be linked to Egyptian LNG terminals, to help Egypt achieve its aims of becoming a major LNG export hub for Europe.[5] The pipeline would source gas from the Leviathan gas field.[4]
